Activities and Special Events

  • Learn what it takes to make it in the sports broadcasting industry

  • Train with top professional sportscasters

  • Meet professional athletes and coaches

  • Develop public speaking, writing, recording and editing skills

  • Create sports anchor and sideline reporting videos like ESPN, Bleacher Report and more

  • Learn how to report on college and professional sports including NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, MLS, Olympics and esports games

  • Record play-by-play broadcasts at professional sports events

  • Tour professional sports arenas and broadcasting studios

  • Host your own sports talk radio and sports debate shows like ESPN's Pardon the Interruption (PTI)

  • Practice sports social media, podcasting and entrepreneurship

  • Improve team building and professional development skills

  • Attend a Major/Minor League baseball game (dependent upon league schedules)

  • Have fun with your friends and fellow sports fans!

Overnight Option

Evening activities include attending a Major/Minor League game (if possible), wiffle ball, basketball, sports games, and much more

11 am – TNT & Philadelphia Sixers sideline reporter Molly Sullivan visits
12 pm – Lunch
1 pm – Interactive activity
2 pm – Press conference with Ravens OL Alex Lewis
3 pm – Interactive activity


9 am to 4pm – Campers split into groups by age and rotate between activities including making sports anchor tapes, voicing over highlights, sports talk radio shows on camera, pre/post game shows on camera, making play by play tapes of the NBA finals, MLB Playoffs, and Super Bowl, and trivia contests

9 am – WNST sports media pundit Nestor Aparicio visits
10 am to 4pm – Campers split into groups by age and rotate between PTI and “Live Tweeting,” as
well as making “In Your Face” tapes, rants on camera, football preview shows, and voicing over


9 am – Prepare for play by play at Bowie Baysox game
9:30 am to 4 pm – Play by play from our seats into recording devices at Bowie Baysox game


9 am – Podcasting
10 am – BeIN College football announcer and CBS Radio anchor/host Matt Martucci visits
11 am – Interactive activity
12 pm – Lunch
1 pm – Sports Jeopardy
3 pm – Camp concludes
