Our Story
Play By Play Sports Broadcasting Camps (SBC) has been teaching young sports fans how to become professional sports broadcasters since 2002. The camps are designed to be interactive, featuring hands-on training and appearances by celebrity guests. It's an excellent opportunity for kids to immerse themselves in the world of sports broadcasting, learn about the field, and build a community with other aspiring broadcasters.
SBC hosts summer camps in 13 cities across the United States, including Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston, and Atlanta. The camps cater to sports fanatics aged 10-18 and provide a wide range of activities such as radio and TV play-by-play, sports debate in the style of ESPN's Pardon the Interruption (PTI), sideline reporting, podcasting and interviewing, sports talk radio, sports social media management, sports anchoring, and sports trivia games. This diverse curriculum ensures that participants gain a broad understanding of the industry.
Play By Play SBC offers advanced workshops for older kids and teens, along with virtual camps and programs. These include online summer and winter camps, private lessons, and even a Parent-Child Weekend in Philadelphia.
Many SBC alumni have gone on to become pro sportscasters, working for the biggest networks like ESPN, MLB Network, NHL Network, ABC, NBC, and CBS.
